Northern lights tonight in New Hampshire

New Hampshire sits at about 54° magnetic latitude, so the aurora reaches it from roughly Kp 6.0 — a few nights a year, on G2–G3 storms. The card below reads NOAA's oval, tonight's dark hours, the cloud and the Moon for First Connecticut Lake, Pittsburg right now.

New Hampshire's north tip at Pittsburg is 45° north and 55° magnetic, with the Connecticut Lakes giving open water toward Québec and no town for 60 km — the state's one genuinely dark aurora site, Kp 5.5 and up. The White Mountains are darker than their fame suggests but their northern horizons are peaks; the Auto Road base and the notches give gaps. Umbagog on the Maine line is the flat alternative. Concord and the seacoast need a G3 and see mostly red.
